Beautiful Words

Beautiful words stir my heart. I will recite a lovely poem about the king, for my tongue is like the pen of a skillful poet.

THE RUNNERS 1 “DO NOT LEAVE YOUR RACE”

THE RUNNERS 1 "Do not leave your race"

A marathon held by a king. The king promised a great reward in the form knighted and a gold trophy for the winner. The race was open to all people without distinguish status, profession, and age. Each participant was given a time limit in accordance with the discretion and consideration of the king.

The promised reward was great and priceless. Therefore the terrain must be passed was not easy. Indeed, many supporters who stood on some side road to encourage the runners passing by. But there were times the runners must pass through the wilderness and the steep streets, uphill and downhill. There was even a street on the edge of cliff. They also have to cross the rocky and raging river. Although it was seem dangerous, in fact the king had put his guards everywhere to make sure the safety of the participants of the race.

Many who follow this race but many of them stopped in the middle of the race. Partly because of their time limit had expired and partly because they did not want to continue the race. Eventually only a little of runners who managed to reach the finish line.

On the finish line, the king has waited for the winners. Whenever there was a runner entered the finish line always greeted with cheers and fanfare live music, songs and royal dances. Even the king stood to greet with a happy laugh and proud so that runner felt that he was the winner.

The king knew that the runners have struggled for so long. That’s why the king also held a festive party and entertain them with a variety of delicious dishes and fancy that they may rest from their toil.

Then the awaited moment came that the delivery of the promised reward. A surprise has been prepared by the king to the runners. It was not only one winner got the reward, but all runners who managed to reach the finish line. Instantly all fatigue gone when they received the gold trophy and the royal peerage that will never be taken back from their lives forever.

After knowing all that, many of participants of the race who cannot finish the race regret why they did not complete the race. If only they endure to the end. If only they run faster, so did not run out of time. If only they are more focus to run. If only … if only … But it was too late. The race has ended!

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. (1 Corinthians 9:24-25 NKJV)

In a race in this world all the participants strive to be a winner. Grabbed the trophy and the champion is an honor and pride. They practice very hard and try to win the race with maximum strength. Some of them are even willing to cheat as long as it can beat competitors.

In this life YOU and I are the RUNNERS in the RACE OF FAITH. NOT FOR COMPETITIVE for the sake of defeating others but for WORK OUT OUR SALVATION and COMPLETE THE GOD’S CALLING.

Each of us has given THE TIME LIMIT, namely AGE awarded by the Lord. What and how we live our lives will determine the final outcome of our race of faith. If we successfully ended the race well then WE ALL will receive eternal reward from God.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me THE CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and NOT TO ME ONLY BUT ALSO TO ALL WHO HAVE LOVED HIS APPEARING. (2 Timothy 4:7-8 NKJV)

Therefore, let us strive and persevere to follow the Lord Jesus. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR RACE BEFORE THE FINISH LINE. Complete our race in sincerity and obedience in the power of God. Let use the time that is given by God wisely. Do not use it for something stupid and futile.

But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. (1 Timothy 6:11-12 NKJV)

We are not called to COMPETE with one another, but to COMPLETE the God’s plan for the time period that was given by God.

This is amazing post. Perseverance is difficult when we are used to getting what we want when we want it, but it is imperative if we are to truly seek Him and His Kingdom.

These are beautiful words of hope for all. They remind me of Isaiah 40:31 — Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength, they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.

It is wonderful to be assured that our Savior is supporting us all the way as we complete our race. Hebrews 13:5 promises — I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you.

Our King is waiting for us to arrive at home.
