Beautiful Words

Beautiful words stir my heart. I will recite a lovely poem about the king, for my tongue is like the pen of a skillful poet.

“GOD, MAKE ME YOUR INSTRUMENT”

"God, make me Your instrument"Hello guys..! Sometime ago my foster sister in Singapore sent me a video link about a 12 years old blind and autistic teen boy named Christopher Duffley. Wow…! You know what, I have to tell you that I was deeply moved and touched watching his video. Not just because the beautiful song he sung but rather to his previous life background. I do believe all of you have been know about Christopher’s story. Duffley was born prematurely at only 26 weeks, weighing only 1 pound 12 ounces with cocaine in his system, by the time he was born, the doctor said that the chance to live is only 50 percent. But God has another will. God allowed him to survive and later allowing him to involve in His great works. When he was 5, He diagnosed had autistic. As we know the autistic had a problem in make a communication with others. But it is where the God’s power working amazingly. Behind the shortcomings and weaknesses God gave him an extraordinary ability. Duffley fond of voicing rhytmical sounds like a beat box. He is also very good imitating the sound of other musical instruments such as piano, guitar, etc. Realize that thing, his uncle and aunt led him to hear a lot of gospel songs. This habit eventually makes Christopher really love to sing, especially singing gospel songs. His ability has made a famous music producer interesting to make a Christian music album for Duffley.

To be honest, as a teen I learned many previous and important things from Duffley.  I learned how great our God.  How amazing God use a blind and autistic child to involve in His Kingdom works. Proclaim the Greatness of God’s love and grace to the world and prove that God can use anyone for His work even use the disable and has special needs. It makes me realize that if we now have a weakness or disability, do not be discouraged. God can use us amazingly through His extraordinary ways. God can use us to be His blessings channel. Don’t always focused on the weaknesses but let us see and explore the capabilities that we have. God is fair! Behind our weakness God surely gives us other ability. In my personal lives, my foster sister has disability but God gave him an extraordinary ability so she is able to be successful. God can make our weakness become a perfect power as written in the Bible: But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9) Let’s stop complaining and grumbling just because we have weaknesses, or even we blame God and judge that He wasn’t fair. Let us stop asking,”God, why you give this to me” But let we start to say,” God, use my weakness to be a channel of your blessings. God, make me an instrument” Today, make Christopher Duffley to be our model and inspiration. Do not be ashamed if we have a disability or weakness because God can use all of it to be a blessing for many people.

And if now we have a great ability such as has a beautiful voice, intelligence, or whatever it is. Please don’t forget one thing. Don’t be arrogant, remain being humble and don’t boast ourselves.

So that no one may boast before him (1 Corinthians 1:29)

God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble (James 4:6)

Let’s keep our hearts, minds and deeds so that do not fall into the sin of arrogance. Honestly, I found those who have amazing ability and they involved in the church ministry, but without they realize they become arrogant!  They always sing how great our God through their beautiful voice but when they sing there is arrogance that seen from their expression. They preach about humility but in their daily lives, their deed is contrary to what they say.  They forget that everything we have is a God’s blessing and God can take it all away back. All are only for God’s glory alone. Amen.

For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever!

 (Romans 11:36)

The arrogance of man will be brought low and human pride humbled; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day. (Isaiah 2:17)

  6. A wonderful Story Stella Irene of God’s provision in hardship and yes He does not choose what worldly man says is important but what the world rejects as not of much worth.

1 Corinthians 1: 25 31 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in His presence. But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

A simple, short yet powerful post. It makes me think who is really handicapped, us or them? A heart so pure and trusting Christopher and other children with special needs should be what we model ourselves after. Another wonderful proof God can use everything, everyone, No matter what and who they are. Good and worth to read and ponder.
