Beautiful words stir my heart. I will recite a lovely poem about the king, for my tongue is like the pen of a skillful poet.

TWO MESSAGES FROM CANA (Source: John 2:1-11)

two messages from Cana

On a greatly clear day the wedding is being held. The honorable invitation and relatives mingle each other while enjoying the delicious offerings from the host accompanied by beautiful music. They ate and drank merrily.  However, behind that lively festive party, in the other room, there was confusion and panic just because the wine as a main beverage which should continually served until the end of party had already depleted. It happens probably because not a lot of inventory or perhaps the guests who attended at the party are beyond the prediction. But whatever the reason, if that happens then it would be a disaster. Really, nobody wants the dream party which prepared very long will ended with disappointment and embarrassment. There is almost no way to save that wedding party.

That’s what happened at the wedding in Cana. But observances of the servants make miracles happen. As we all know, it all was ended with happy ending. Plain water is turned into the wine, not just ordinary wine but even the finest wine. And the bride reap compliment from the master banquet as the “…kept the best wine until now”, which means is until the end of the party. The interesting part is that the bride was never realized a huge problem that threatened him. Without realizing it, all the problems are finished amazingly.

Many similar events happen in this life, though in a different form. Each of us could be in any position, whether as servants who obey the Jesus’ command to pour water into 6 washing jars, or as a bride who received miracles without ever unexpectedly.

We are all created in God’s image and likeness. If God who we worshiped willing to do everything to redeem and help mankind, are not we also have to do it too? The problem is we willing to do it obediently? The servants at the wedding feast of Cana have been doing their part very well. They are not at all arguing what is commanded by Jesus. Whereas it all  risky. What if that water does not turn into a wine? Who will be blamed and bear the consequences? The remarkable thing is they did it all not for their own sake.

Obedience is never free. There is always a thing sacrificed to an observance. When you are obedient to God’s word, you must sacrifice your flesh. When you choosing to willing help others, in fact you’re sacrificing your ego, learn to be more prioritize others than your own interests. But such as the observance was never free, there is always a reward for those who do it.

Without wishing to differentiate the position: they are the servants, not the officers, not the conglomerate. They are not those people who have positions and capability to do fabulous things. But because of their observance, miracles happened.

God does not call those people who “Able” He “Enable” those people who called

Jesus once said to the scribes who tempted Him, about a man who went down from Jerusalem to Jericho. The man was robbed and beaten and left sprawled dying on the curb. There was a priest, the Levite and the Samaritan who walked along that road.Three of them have same chance to be a helper. But only one who took the precious chance, which is the Samaritan.(Luke 10: 25 – 37).

No matter who we are and our background, there are times in life we are placed in an important position to help others. Are we willing to obey God to be a path of blessing to others? The choice is absolutely in our hands!!!

And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint. So then, as occasion and opportunity open up to us, let us do good [morally] to all people [not only being useful or profitable to them, but also doing what is for their spiritual good and advantage]. Be mindful to be a blessing, especially to those of the household of faith [those who belong to God’s family with you, the believers (Galatians 6:9-10 Amplified Bible)

A person who has gone through the process, struggle and strive hard to achieve something and then successfully is worthy to be called as the winner. But what about the person who takes his time with tranquil, even happy, never aware of the problems that are being threatened, did not even feel the pressure of the problem, all was fine, but then suddenly receive a miracle and even upgrades, is it not called more than a conqueror?

More than conquerors

More than conquerors

The Bride and groom at Cana were very happy on their wedding day. The party was lively and successful. They was certainly received so many compliments from the guests. It may even for some time, the party still becomes an interesting discussion because very different than usually. As the master banquet said: “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”Bride at Cana was enjoyed all of it, without to feel panic and tension when the wine runs out in the middle of the party, without need think and find the solution. Then they received the glory, because the miracle that they had received is totally free such a gift which they never ask.

In everyday life, it is very likely we will experience the same thing as the bride of Cana. There comes a time we experiencing problems and God help us.But there are times when even without we realize silently God has delivered us from something that could potentially break us,God even ultimately turning it to be something that would bring us to a higher level.

Miracle of God

Miracle of God

Don’t boast in the future because we never know what will happen.

Never say “The result is All of my efforts” if we successfully achieve a remarkable achievement.

Do not ever say “I do not need God” if everything in life is doing fine.

Remember that there is always THE INVISIBLE HAND that sprightly to help, support, and able elevate us higher more than we reached. Because of we are more than conquerors.
